Client:
LET'S GO is a STEM non-profit organization serving the DMV area. They're devoted to ending the cycle of poverty by providing children of all ages with STEM education and development.
Tech Used:
Photoshop, Wordpress, JavaScript (custom reporting app using Vanilla JS), AWS
Project Goal:
LET'S GO's website was dated and hard to navigate. They wanted to streamline the site's content and highlight their great work for potential donors and families.
Their old WordPress site was clunky and slow, scoring low on all standard metrics for speed and accessibility. The site was bogged down with unoptimized images and unused or duplicate plugins.
By mid-2020, they were also in a big growth cycle. New programs had been created to support their students learning remotely and the old site made it difficult to highlight those new programs.
The team also needed a custom application to standardize their existing Airtable data and turn it into an on-demand reporting application.
Outcome:
I created a modern design for LET'S GO's website to showcase their wins and the students who have benefited from the program.
Design-wise, I improved the use of the color palette by creating more white space and using stronger colors as accents rather than primary colors.
Clean and engaging layouts were made by pairing heartwarming images of their students with copy about the logistics of the program.
The result was a website that maintained playfulness while being professional and palatable to potential donors.
